Leon Wildes was a monumental force in establishing the Manhattan Jewish Experience (MJE) in August, 1998.  Led by Leon’s son Rabbi Mark and guided by his other son and law partner Mayor Michael,MJE’s outreach and educational work was dear to Leon’s heart and a cause to which he was devoted for many years.  

 

The Leon Wildes Legacy Fund supports programs at MJE that promote the scholarship and professionalism Leon Wildes himself embodied throughout his magnificent life and illustrious career.  The Fund will also enable unaffiliated young people to learn more about their heritage and find their rightful place in our community.  Having devoted his professional life to assisting immigrants, this Fund will ensure no one remains on the sidelines of Jewish life.
