Giving Back Opportunities

Blood Drive (CLICK TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT)

Can’t donate blood? Check out these awesome opportunities and see how you can GIVE BACK!

Donate Canned Foods & Winter Coats – we will be giving food and coat donations to local food bank and shelters.
JScreen – Genetic Testing Information
Gift of Life – Curing blood cancer through marrow and stem cell donation!
Masbia – Soup kitchen network and food pantry, everyday providing hot, nutritious meals for hundreds of New Yorkers in desperate need of food.
Repair the World – We aim to make meaningful service a defining part of American Jewish life.
Reservists on Duty – Israeli reserve combat soldiers who felt they had a duty to expose and counter the BDS movement and new forms of anti-Semitism erupting on college campuses across America.

10:15am – Class with Rabbi Wildes on Loving Kindness
10am-4pm – Blood Drive and Day of Giving Back Activities
*The peak hours are 11am-1pm, but Blood drive will continue until 4pm if you can’t make it during those hours.

If You’re Donating Blood, Remember to…

Hydrate
Be sure to drink plenty of fluids on the day of your donation

Wear Something Comfortable
Wear clothing with sleeves that can easily be rolled up above the elbow.

Bring a List of Medications You Are Taking
We will need to know about any prescription and/or over the counter medications that may be in your system.

Bring an ID
Please bring either your donor card, driver’s license, or some form of photo ID.

Bring a Friend
Bring along a friend, so that you may both enjoy the benefits of giving blood.

Maintain a Healthy Level of Iron in Your Diet Before Donating
If possible, include iron-rich foods in your diet, such as spinach, broccoli, red meats, raisins, etc.
